ENTERPRISE AWARD

From ITS first edition, in 1996, the Marcelo Gangoiti Award rewards the entrepreneurial work carried out in the left river industrial and mining zone close to Bilbao. The prize is named after Don Marcelo, a person very involved in the social development of the inhabitants of this industrial area, where he left the Somorrostro Training Center as a tool for the integral education of the people of these localities and as a legacy to his person.

The objective of the award is the recognition of those who are committed to innovation, wealth, employment generation, and care of environment.

The award ceremony is organized by SPRI, The Council of Bizkaia, chaired by the Basque Country President, Mr. Iñigo Urkullu, with the presence of Mr. Joseba Segura, (Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Bilbao), Mr. Borja Liaño, Mayor of Muskiz, Mr. Ainara Basurko (Deputy Minister of Economic Promotion), Mr. Alexander Arriola, (General Director of SPRI), Mr. Iñaki Garcinuño, (President of CEBEK) and Mr. Javier Laiseca, (Director of the Somorrostro Training Center).EMICA BOMBAS, with 120 years dedicated to the manufacture of centrifugal pumps, has been awarded the Marcelo Gangoiti prize in this XXIV edition.
